Teaching Assistant — CS412 Machine Learning
Sabancı University
Led recitations, held office hours, and handled grading for the Machine Learning course.
I'm a first-year Master's student in Data Science at Sabancı University, advised by Dr. Onur Varol. My research interests lie at the intersection of computational social science, network analysis, and algorithmic fairness.
Currently, I'm investigating algorithmic fairness and systemic bias on Bluesky, specifically focusing on how curation mechanisms shape network structure and user exposure.
My research focuses on understanding bias and fairness in social platforms, network effects of algorithmic recommendations.

Developed a knowledge base for Turkey's largest job platform. Built a skill extraction pipeline using LangChain and GPT-4o-mini, with HDBSCAN clustering for normalization. The resulting graph contains 114,000+ nodes and ~61 million edges.

I build interactive study guides for courses I TA and take.
Uncompressed thinking.
I enjoy capturing moments around İstanbul and travels.
I'll listen to almost anything, but lately it's mostly K-pop, rap, Japanese folk, progressive rock, and K-indie. I also play guitar. Though I must say, I like my HSS Strat and how I look with it.
I love whodunnits and murder mysteries and could genuinely talk about them for hours. Also into psychological thrillers and Korean cinema. Park Chan-wook especially.
Some YouTube channels I watch regularly and think are worth your time: Veritasium, The Rest Is Science, Howtown, neo, fern, WVFRM Podcast, and Mic The Snare.
Linguistics, etymology, mathematics, sociology, urban studies. I game sometimes too.
